Pediatric Dental Care
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommends bringing a child to the dentist when the first teeth are visible, around age one. This helps the child become comfortable with the dentist and allows questions to be answered. Professional recommendations to optimize good at home oral health practices can also be made. By age 3 or 4 preventative care like cleanings and x-rays can begin and any restorative needs that are found can be completed with greater cooperation from the child.
